Blasting Water Bombs!

Kia ora, for today's post on the summer learning journey, Nanogirl has set up a challenge to build something that floats. You can use objects around your house or your garden. I chose to make this origami water bomb. I had made this before and it was fun making it before and it's still fun now.  I think it works well because it has lots of air inside it which makes it float well. I've learned a lot of things today, How do things float? It’s all to do with something called buoyancy. Have you done this activity? If so what did you build? Comment down in the comment section.

  1. Hi Aarooshi!
I enjoyed looking at your pictures and watching your video. It is great to see that someone is building something different. I made a boat out of straws and tape! Very different things. Awesome job!

It is me Quein again from the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey. It is Great to see your engagement with the SLJ. I was very impressed as I can see that you have put a lot of time and effort into creating your floating device and the blog post. Thank you for sharing your work and providing a video showing that device floats on the water. Buoyancy is the ability of an object to float. You floating device looks very well constructed- Well Done!!!. I really enjoyed that nanogirl activity as it allows you to become an inventor. This activity looks like a lot of fun and it is Great to see that you enjoyed the activity. It is Great to see that you have a give it a go mindset- Ka Pai!!!

Do you have any tips on creating a device or object that can float on the water?

I’m looking forward to seeing your next blog post!!!

    Ngā mihi,
